Be a Trifecta Sponsor and
Help Long Beach Area Residents Who are Most in Need!

The Trifecta Mission:
To improve the lives of the most vulnerable in Long Beach, particularly as they struggle with the direct and indirect impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Aligning your organization with this trio of nonprofits represents a fantastic opportunity to make your marketing and sponsorship dollars more impactful.

What is the Trifecta?
The Long Beach Trifecta consists of a series of three month-long walk/run virtual events beginning in May and ending in July. Participants in all three events will receive a special commemorative finisher’s medal. Last year, all three walk/run events pivoted to a virtual format due to the heightened threat of COVID-19 at in-person gatherings. Although we wish that it were safe to gather in person for the 2021 races, we feel it is wise to use the virtual format this year.

More about the events and the agencies:
May 1-31, 2021 – 33rd Annual Race With A View 5K/10K – supporting JFCS of Long Beach & West Orange County

JFCS provides affordable professional mental health counseling and social services, serving the entire community without regard for religion, race, socioeconomic status, gender identity, or immigration status.

June 1-30, 2021 – 6th Annual Storm the Beach 5K/10K – supporting U.S.VETS – Long Beach
U.S.VETS – Long Beach provides housing, employment services, mental health services, and other crucial support to over 800 veterans and their families experiencing homelessness in the Long Beach area.

July 1-31, 2021– 6th Annual Meals on Wheels of Long Beach 5K/10K — supporting Meals on Wheels of Long Beach (MOWLB)
MOWLB provides nutritious and freshly prepared meals with “friendly visits”, wellness checks, and Care Navigation supportive services to homebound isolated seniors, veterans, and disabled members of the community.

Pending lifted COVID-19 restrictions, a celebratory in-person event will be held in late July to mark the successful completion of the 2021 Long Beach Trifecta.

What is a virtual walk/run?
A virtual walk or run allows participants to choose when, where, and how long they would like to walk or run. They can choose to walk a short distance to their mailbox, or go for miles and miles–participants decide whatever is comfortable for them. The time of day that they walk or run is as flexible as the scenery they choose. They can still build or join a team and walk together (observing physical distancing and wearing masks, of course). Family members who live out of town can also join in the fun. Posting on social media is encouraged and helps promote the cause of the event.

Who attends our events?
The 2020 walk/run virtual events drew a largely unduplicated 1,200 participants and volunteers from every zip code in Long Beach and the surrounding areas. Data shows that the participants typically like to pursue healthy activities while supporting the important community services provided by these agencies. Some of them work in Long Beach for both large and small businesses but live elsewhere. Each agency’s event is supported by their board members who comprise an influential group of socially conscious residents and business owners. Elected officials are always invited to participate.

The marketing opportunity:
Because these three agencies touch so many lives across the Long Beach area, sponsors have the unique opportunity to support their work while also receiving broad exposure. Your business can receive as many as 70,000 unique impressions through the marketing efforts of each individual event. As a Trifecta sponsor, you are automatically included as a sponsor in the marketing activities of each agency for all three events. The amount of exposure you receive with each event depends upon your level of participation as a Trifecta sponsor.

OUR IMPACT

Together, JFCS of Long Beach, U.S.VETS – Long Beach, and Meals on Wheels of Long Beach serve thousands of unique individuals and families in our diverse community with nutritious meals, vital mental health counseling, emergency financial assistance, housing referrals, and a full range of support services to help them cope with the direct and indirect impacts of COVID-19.

Jewish Family & Children’s Service supports individuals, families, and children in Long Beach, West Orange County, and the surrounding communities with an array of programs, including counseling, support groups, care management for older adults, food and necessities, emergency financial assistance, and referrals. The vision of JFCS is a community healed, one person, one family at a time. Since the onset of COVID-19 in mid-March, JFCS has been open remotely to provide services to over 1,000 unique individuals whose lives have been upended by the coronavirus. Many of these individuals are served on a weekly basis with online counseling, delivery of food and essentials, friendly phone check-ins by our social work team, and our online support groups such as Coping and
Connecting.

Founded by veterans to serve veterans, U.S.VETS is the largest non-profit organization with boots on the ground to combat America’s homeless veteran crisis head-on. At the Long Beach site, we have the privilege of serving over 800 veterans and their families with the support and resources they need to stay off the streets and regain their self-sufficiency. Our comprehensive approach provides housing, counseling, career and supportive services to help our veterans rebuild and thrive. These programs include transitional housing for male veterans, female veterans, female veterans with children, and non-veteran women’s housing. In addition to our transitional housing, we offer permanent housing, Supportive Services for Veteran Families, and workforce development. In the face of the global pandemic, U.S.VETS has remained committed to our holistic approach to treating homelessness by restructuring programs to continue delivering services virtually. Together, we can provide all veterans with every opportunity to live with dignity and independence as they deserve.

Meals on Wheels of Long Beach (MOWLB) has supported the needs of the “homebound”
— seniors, veterans, and the disabled — in the Long Beach community for 50 years. Annually, MOWLB serves over 200,000 freshly prepared nutritious meals to 650 of our “homebound” neighbors who are not able to provide for themselves. Every delivery is made by “Friendly Visitor” volunteers who provide daily wellness checks and much-needed social interaction that can often turn into new relationships for our isolated clients. The MOWLB Care Navigation Program provides additional assistance for clients to help them live safely and more comfortably at home. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for our home-delivered meal service has nearly doubled. With the support of the Long Beach Community, volunteers, donors, and our foundation partners, MOWLB has been able to meet the needs of our homebound neighbors.

Sponsorship of the Long Beach Trifecta allows your business to align with these effective and dedicated agencies to have a positive impact on those in our community who are the most vulnerable and whose lives have been forever changed by COVID-19.
